Reunites with renowned Sociologist, Prof. Nikolai Genov, in Sofia

In a unique encounter symbolizing the passing of the academic torch from one generation to the next, Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević recently met with Prof. Nikolai Genov, an acclaimed sociologist, in Bulgaria's capital, Sofia.

Prof. Nikolai Genov is known for his enriching contributions to sociology and his extended service at the prestigious Freie Universität Berlin, Genov is an eminent figure in the global academic community.

Before his retirement, Genov dedicated the final five years of his esteemed career to the School of Advanced Social Studies (SASS) in Slovenia. He arrived at the meeting wearing a T-shirt adorned with the SASS's emblem.


Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević, in his postgraduate journey, found an unofficial valuable supervisor in Genov. He helped him gain his first international publications, which were included in Genov's own edited volumes.

The meeting in Sofia was a remarkable experience, as he continues to learn and gain insights from Genov's rich academic wisdom. It was, by all accounts, a delightful afternoon that symbolized the beautiful intergenerational exchange within academia.
