👉 Water protection is also of particular importance in this area. These days, signatures are being collected in Slovenia in support of the referendum on drinking water💧, and many initiatives have also been implemented at the EU level.

👉 Years ago, the first and most successful Right2Water citizens' initiative took place, in which EU citizens called on the European institutions and Member States to ensure that all citizens have the right to water and public utilities to provide water and water resources management will not be subject to internal market rules and that water-related services will be excluded from liberalization measures. ‼‼

👉 The initiative was successful, as Parliament then called on the Commission by a large majority to propose appropriate legislation to implement the human right to water and sanitation and, if necessary, amend the Water Framework Directive to recognize universal access and human rights. to the water.
