House of European history - Human Books in Fake for Real

The activities at the museum are organised in compliance with the security measures linked to the COVID-19 pandemic: physical distancing and wearing a face mask will be compulsory. All activities are for individual visitors only and upon registration.

Sunday 6th of June, 13.00 - 18.00

Just like any normal library, our books will be available to borrow, engage with and learn from. Except; in this instance the books, will be real people with a unique personal experience or perspective to share with you as the ‘reader’. Take the opportunity to engage with our books in a 15-minute personal conversation. You can ask them the questions that you normally wouldn’t be able to do with regular books. The one-on-one personal conversations can help you to understand why some of our books made some of their choices in the past. The once in a lifetime conversations contribute to greater human cohesion and help to foster empathy with the reader. Our Living Library is based on the successful Danish model by the youth organisation "Stop the violence" (2000) and has spread across the world. Languages: English, French, Dutch More information on the programme and how to register here.
